My Running Camps and Fitness In the Park Testimonials: "Thank you, Lisa for the personalized care and attention you have provided me toward my health and fitness goals over the past (almost ) three years. As an older runner, I love Running Camp and Fitness in the Park. The schedule is flexible and working out with women of all ages and backgrounds who become my friends is motivating and fun. I am sure these are the reasons I have been as consistant has I have with this program. You share your knowledge freely, and provide a warm, casual atmosphere so we don't realize (until the next day...) that we are really kicking our butts! I appreciate all of your hard work and planning. Keep up the great work in the West Valley." Mary, 03/11
"I never thought I would look forward to working out. When I first heard of the running camp I thought, "Running camp?....but I'm not a runner." I still think I'm not a runner, but I know I've improved. EZ8 and Fitness in the Park has me committed to things I thought I'd never commit to...working out early in the morning and on a Friday night. That's how much I like it and I see results in my body and my health. Plus working out with the other ladies lead by Lisa makes the workout so much easier...Thanks Lisa for the opportunity to workout in good company." Melanie, 06/09
"Since my mid 20’s I have had high blood pressure controlled with medication. I have exercised and been physically active but not enough to be successful in decreasing my blood pressure. After attending Lisa’s EZ8 Camp and Upper/Abs Class 2 days a week for just a month my blood pressure has decreased significantly. Lisa’s class is very motivating. The positive energy and encouragement Lisa gives is addictive. I look forward to going to class every week and hope to soon be medication free." Julie, 04/09
"Where to begin with the EZ8 Running experience? That's a hard one. I really didn't know what to expect when I decided to join. All I can say is in the last two months I went from absolutely hating running to actually enjoying it, kind of! I played competitive sports growing up, and running was always my least favorite thing to do because I was never "good" enough at it. I've learned it's not about how fast you finish, but the fact that you have finished. Not only that, but since joining, I've lost inches from the not-so-beloved back side, and I've hiked to the top of Squaw Peak. That may sound like a small accomplishment, but I never would have even attempted it before the camp. So, to Lisa and the girls...can't wait for the next round!" Amity, 03/09
"I’m not one to get up and go to the gym. I’ve never really enjoyed the gym, but I knew that I needed to increase my activity. And until I found Lisa and her EZ8 camp I thought the gym was my only option. I have had the most fun “Working Out.” My goal was to improve my running abilities, and I have improved, tremendously. I have also lost 8 pounds in 8 weeks, just by increasing my activity two nights a week, and NOT changing my eating habits. How’s that for motivation! If I can turn the television off and get up off the couch YOU CAN TOO!". Erika, 03/09
"I am amazed at how well the running camp has built up my endurance. After running twice a week for only 8 weeks, I have found that even after taking a couple weeks off, when I get back on the track, I can still run a mile without losing my breath! The camp has given me a lot more confidence in my ability to keep inshape!", Amy, 03/09
"Tonight was such a great workout...Sam even mentioned how much she liked it! We both felt really good. Just thought I'd pass that on! See you Thursday. Suzi" (email 02/09) Suzi is one of my "lifers" and her 13 year old daughter does camp with her once a week...way to have fun while exercising with your family!
"Hi Lisa, I will be there. What a great accomplishment on Sunday! I know for a fact I would have never considered running a half marathon had it not been for you! I am so thankful for my friends I have made through EZ8. Eli and Duke are proud of themselves and everyone in the running camp and said they would have never run a half marathon if Briana and I were not in running camp. It was so fun! Have a great day!" Beth, 01/09 (via email)
"A friend of mine sent me some information about Lisa’s EZ8 Running Camp and I knew immediately that I wanted to join….but I came up with about 10 excuses why I shouldn’t. I decided that excuses are what got me to the point in my life I was at – overweight and out of shape. I’d been working on eating healthy and working out a little and had lost some weight but I really needed something to kick the exercise portion into high gear. I’ve always wanted to be a runner but I had no idea where to start so I knew Lisa’s camp was my solution and I decided to sign up. I haven’t had a single regret! The women in the group are fabulous and have a positive energy that keeps you moving for the full hour. Lisa is always mixing things up with the drills so you never get bored and you are always challenged. I used to look at my body and only see flaws – now, when I’m running I look down and see how strong my legs are and what my body allows me to do if I take care of it. Since I’ve joined Lisa’s camp I’ve dropped pounds and inches – and that was over the Holidays!! I also found stamina I had no idea was there. I’m looking forward to continuing the camps, competing in my first 5K and seeing what other challenges I can overcome!! Chrissy, January 09
“I kept seeing the ads for Lisa’s camp in our HOA newspaper, but I found all kinds of excuses not to join: it’s too expensive, I’m too old, I won’t be able to keep up with the other runners. Then, I decided to give myself a 50th birthday gift and sign up! From the very first meeting I knew I would love this group. Lisa has a magic touch that makes working out fun, and the women in the group are not the scary super- athletes I was expecting, but women like me who have decided to get control of their bodies and their health while having a great time. I just finished my first camp and I feel SO good that I only wish I had joined this fantastic group sooner!” Ann, November 08, Realtor
“Lisa Pozzoni is a must for any level of runner. With her expertise and passion for fitness, she motivates each of us to succeed our goals. The energy and enthusiasm she brings to each session creates a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere and most important - fun! I look forward to each session. The workouts are challenging, creative, and fun with the emphasis on correct form. I have past my perceived limits with her help. I am glad I joined Lisa's Running Camp; it is not only about training, staying healthy and fit, but also about having fun with friends along the way!” Elaine, 11/08
“I loved the EZ8 running camp. Lisa is so upbeat and fun. It was a great experience training with a group of women at various stages of fitness. I made friends, increased my endurance, and had fun. I am motivated now to join 5K's and other runs around the city.” Sue, 11/08
“Hi Lisa,On my way home tonight it hit me that I had just gone out and run a 5K without even thinking about it and on a Wednesday night, as well! What a great feeling. I had a lot of fun tonight so I wanted to say thanks and have a great weekend.” Mary, 11/08
If you’re a women interested in running and looking to build your strength, endurance, and improve your over all running skills then Lisa and the EZ8 Running Camp is for you. Even an experienced runner like myself took away a lot from the class. I enjoyed the running drills which I had never done before, and enjoyed the company of other women who were all working on improving their running abilities. Lisa is an excellent teacher and brings a creative touch to the class making it a pleasure for everyone! Lory , 09/08
"I just signed up for my third running camp, not because I just love to run, but because I have the encouragement and support from Lisa, and the rest of the team to get healthy and stay fit. Yes, I have lost pounds, lots of pounds, but I have gained lots of self esteem, health & exercise knowledge, and have met lots of strong and neat women that share my same goals! Lisa makes the classes fun, adds a lot of variety, and makes you forget that you are running! I’ve always been the type of person who wanted to exercise without feeling that I’m exercising. The camps have definitely met that expectation!" - Carole, 09/08
“I was always a sprinter and never dreamed I would want to run anything over a mile. I finished my first 8K a month ago and want to start training for a 10 mile run in the winter. The camaraderie of the group, along with Lisa’s encouraging and fun coaching style have made this a special experience. This camp has inspired me to pursue a hobby I had not thought of returning to in some time. I strongly encourage people to join, whether you are a beginner or experienced as there are skills and tools available in this camp that appeal to all levels.” - Briana, 6/08
"When I first joined the running camp my goal was to run a 5k. I thought to my self a 5k by the time I was done with camp, “NO WAY”. I was able to accomplish that by my 4th week, with the many friends that I met through out this experience. Lisa taught me how to breathe and run the correct way. I am in more shape today then I was weeks ago! Thanks to Lisa I can now run with ease, and I am now ready to run a 10k" – Christina, 06/08
"During my first camp with Lisa, I've lost over 15lbs (that's even with missing a few sessions). My son used to make fun of my "flabby arms", but since I've also been doing abs/weight training, my arms are getting stronger and are more toned. Prior to starting, I was very uncomfortable with my "poofy tummy", but now my abs are becoming flatter & firmer. I'm able to do push-ups & sit-ups with much more ease. I'm not much of a dieter or calorie counter, but since joining Lisa's camp I've just naturally started being more selective about what I eat & drink. I've enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends as we encourage one another to keep improving ourselves, no matter what level each of us starts out at. The greatest benefit however has been mental. I feel so much better about myself, more confident, and much less stressed." Laura, 6/08
"WELL, let's just say after 20 years in the Air Force and HATING to run anywhere but to a good sale. I've ARRIVED at the new me. I joined the Avondale EZ8 camp just for kicks and giggles. I soon found myself running on the off days (running my very first 5K and finishing) and loving every minute of it. After a certain point in our lives (after 35) you start to think you can't do it anymore. Now I'm looking forward to running my first 10K in Dec and hopefully the half marathon in Jan. Lisa has been a GREAT inspiration and motivation to me. I'm now running six days a week, I've lost over 20 pounds (in 6 weeks) and have a new outlook on life and how great I feel because of the exericsing and positive vibe you get just from being aroung Lisa during the week. And lets' not forget about the great group of ladies you get to laugh and share with every week. What a wonderful way to get a new lease of life, enjoy the company of some great ladies and have the consistent motivation of a GREAT TRAINER." Tiffany H., 6/08
"I'm now participating in my third EZ8 running camp with Lisa. In addition to the fitness benefits, I'm meeting fun, active, positive women who make the camps extra fun. Each session is a little different; it never gets boring. With Lisa's guidance and the encouragement of my fellow runners I've become more motivated to increase my fitness level -- and I am actually enjoying the process! Plus, I've made some new friends and fitness buddies. Lisa has transformed me from an exercise hater to a fun-fitness lover." Joanne, 6/08
"I never thought I could become a runner at 46. Four weeks into the EZ8 running camp has not only proven me wrong but I've shaved an entire minute off my mile time! Learning to run correctly using the POSE method is great but the friends I'm making in the process - priceless." - CJ, 4/08
“I just had a baby and wanted to get back into shape. EZ8 was awesome! It not only motivated me to get running again, but got me back in shape too. I liked that it was a team effort, and everyone cheered one another on”-Aletia, 4/08
“I joined the running camp because I felt like it was the only way I can get in shape. I have never liked to run though. I never realized running with this great group would be so much fun. I also really enjoy the drills and sprints. I really like the locations we run.”- Beth, 4/08
“I enjoyed running with other women that encouraged me with my time. Plus the Pose Method has helped with my running time”-Roz, 4/08
“I enjoyed meeting new people and getting more motivation from Lisa and the others”-Sylvia, 4/08
"Iron girl? Me? Who would of thought? Yes, if I can do it you can do it! I ran my first post twins 5K in early December and even beat my trainer by just a few other Iron girls! What a compliment to Lisa! I have really enjoyed the EZ8 running camps. They have taught me about breathing, form and endurance...and I improved my time every month! I am really looking forward to the up and coming running camp to loose those holidays pounds, for my Caribbean cruise and to fit into my new Christmas wardrobe!"--Amy, 1/08
"My whole motivation for joining EZ8 running camp was to improve on my technique and gain confidence to run a 5K. Thanks to Lisa's training camp, I have achieved my goals. On December 2nd 2007, I will be running my first 5K." -- Mercedes, 1/08
"The EZ8 running camp has taking my running to a new level! My breathing, endurance and appreciation for the sport have increased way beyond my expectations. Running in the gym doesn't seem the same! I've enjoyed Lisa's camp so much that I've taken my fitness committment to a new level and joined her training program!"--Suzi, 1/08
Lisa's running camp is empowering and fun. I'm 50 years old, 200+ pounds, and thought running would be too hard on my body. But at camp, I find myself running (injury-free), and enjoying it. It doesn't even feel like exercise. I'm also noticing some increased muscle tone and more energy. " -- Rose, 6/07
"I was very skeptical at first about this camp and changing my ways of running. I have found that it is so much easier on my joints. It also is a lot more fun doing this with a group."--Stacy, 6/07
"My fitness groove revived after several waning years. I especially like the group dynamic and Lisa's personal attention. It really does feel good to run again."--Gene, 6/07
"I didn't have the confidence that I could run. However, once I started camp and learned the right techniques, it became easier. The group setting is great because we keep each other motivated!"--Vicki, 6/07

"Hi Lisa, Thanks again for the great class last Saturday, I really enjoyed all the new information and meeting you. Today I did my first long run since last weeks class, 7 miles. I can't believe I am saying this, but, I did notice a huge difference, I was able to run more and walk less! I chose to focus on posture, core, arms and looking straight ahead. Just thought I would give you an update and let you know that your class did seem to make a difference." Carla 9/11
"What do I have in common with Danny Dreyer? We will both be running in Boston on April 16th! I qualified in San Francisco 7/31 and my time has been verified as has Danny's so we are good to go! Hope you are both doing well ---- I have the 50 mile Man vs. Horse in 12 days - yikes!!! I am not too stressed though, I had a 27 mile mountain training run yesterday (I must be younger than 60??) Chi has been keeping me healthy and FAST two 22 minute 5K's this year and a 46+ minute 10K! My beat-up running mates keep shaking their heads...Take care and be well. Ken" Ken 9/11, Mountain Milers Running Club, Prescott AZ (see testimonial after Ken took the ChiRunning workshop in November 2010. He is an inspiration to me! He's 60 years old!)
"Hi Lisa, The thing I liked best was the video analysis of our running before and after. It made the class very personal. There wasn't anything that I least liked. The repetition was a helpful way to learn the material incorporating good adult learning concepts with hear, see,do,etc. I ran this morning my longest distance yet incorporating what I learned yesterday. My time was better with less fatigue and not feeling so beat up than I have experienced in the past with my "old" way of running. Thank you so much" Anna 9/11
"Today I wanted to do 5-6 miles, but I got up late and ran short on time, but that turned out to be good. I had a couple aha! moments: I picked up my pace to cram in as much mileage as I could in the amount of time I had. Instead of running my usual sluggish 11:30ish, I ran 10:07 and was able to sustain the pace for the length of my run. I still did 4.5 miles, just short of my bottom goal, so I’m okay with it. I also got over a strange mental block I didn’t realize I had. At one point I was in 3rd gear, going all out, letting myself loose and having a great time, and suddenly thought that I should slow down. Simultaneously, I thought that was silly, so decided to see how far my body wanted to run at that pace, and kept going. I was able to go further than I thought I would, and still maintained the 10 min. pace for the rest of the run. I never realized that I was afraid to run “too fast.” Reflecting on it, I think I was afraid that I would run out of fuel and wouldn’t be able to finish. It might explain why I usually run so slowly, so as to not to get winded before the very end of the run. Now I know better. I was winded almost the entire run today, and I still made it to the end. What an awesome run!" Kim 9/11 (she took the workshop earlier this year...the wonderful thing about ChiRunning is you are always learning something new!")
"Thanks, Lisa! I had a great run and it helped to be mindful of the focuses on my run. I actually had an "aha" moment toward the end where I felt my legs were just going and I was not doing much work. It's also funny to have my core be sore at the end of the run. Thank you again for doing the ChiRunning clinic. I have a ways to go with "gradual progress", but I'm loving enjoying my run without being afraid that I'm going to hurt myself. I just focus and pay attention to what my body is telling me without freaking out now. :)" Laura, 8/11
"Thanks so much for a wonderful, informative morning. It was just the shot in the arm I needed to stop telling myself I'm too old to be trying for this 1/2 marathon goal. I'm just going to run and have fun and see where I'm at when the time comes." Darlene, 7/11 (doing her first half marathon at age 67!)
"Hey Lisa, you are still the woman of the hour. I ran 3 miles flat in 26 mins. Do you even know how fast that is for me? I wasn't even racing. Just went out for a run. First run by myself so I really got to let the speed work without letting off for my running buddy who has not had the advantage of bringing Chi into her life. This has been the single best thing I have done for my training. I equate it to switching from mountain bike to a road bike. Print THAT in your testimonies!!!!" Brigitte, Triathlete and Fitness Instructor, 01/11
Hi Lisa, Thanks for the great workshop. I hope to attend one of the follow up sessions after practicing the form for a few weeks...I liked the video analysis and the sand pit running the most. It really opened my eyes to how I was running...This was an awesome class and I liked the individual attention everyone got. I not only learned by seeing myself on the video, but I learned a lot from seeing everyone else. I also thought you had a great delivery and teaching style. I really learned a lot and I'm glad I took the class. I look forward to the next one! :)" Melody 01/11
"The energy and engagement of the group was great. I felt we all learned a lot from each other. You also did a great job getting across a lot of information in an engaging and visual way...The clinic is a great way to learn more about ChiRunning because you put a lot of concepts into practice. I'm energized to get back into running more regularly now that I know how ways to avoid common injuries and relax more when I run. I'd also love to take a follow-up clinic to see how I'm doing down the road! " Rochelle 01/11
"Just wanted you to know that I just got back from an 8.5 mile loop at white tanks and I put a couple of things from class to work!! I concentrated on elongating my spine nice tuck and rock hard core!! I felt so energized when I was done. I was so mindful the whole time (no headphones) concentrated on feeling my body move. I must have been so hunched over before because I would come home and hardly be able to move. There were a couple of times I could feel I was in the zone but then some knarly rocks would appear? I am still dealing with the groin issue but I can hardly wait for it to get better because the possibilities are endless!! Thank you so much for sharing you knowledge with me!! Baby steps :) I would really like to take you out to White Tanks, wanna go sometime?" Debbie, 11/10
"I took the Chi running class from Lisa on 11/28/2010 and I have to comment on what a fantastic job she did. She obviously knows the Chi method of running as she immediately pinpointed each individuals weaknesses and corrections needed. The class had a big swing in running experience from novice runners to highly experienced runners ...like myself (59 years old, 30+ marathons, 40+ ultra marathons, Boston marathon qualifier and finisher in 2009 and 2010, board member on 5 race committees in Prescott including the Whiskey Row Marathon). During the class, Lisa never came across as critical, (probably could have with this group! LOL!). She made great suggestions on what to work on and how to proceed to the next level. From the first video taping to the last - in a mere 3-4 hours - there were some pretty dramatic changes in the running styles of the group. I am recommending the class to my running club in Prescott and a few have already told me that they will go see Lisa. She made the class fun, put everyone at ease, crammed a ton of information into a small timeframe and again...she knows this stuff even though she is fairly new with Chi herself. No doubt she will be a Chi "star" and a Chi Master if she wants to be. Thank you Lisa and I look forward to refreshers and other ideas you had for classes to help with all aspects of running." 11/10 Ken Ekman, Mountain Milers Running Club, Prescott, AZ
"Thanks so much for the analysis! Since our last session, I've gotten into a more comfortable arm swing, and I can feel that the work load is easier. It's funny that you said about my arms/shoulders etc. taking up energy, because in the past my neck would begin to hurt, which is the first I knew I was lifting my shoulders..I just mostly feel relieved that I won't have to quit running due to injury. As upset as I was, sitting in the podiatrist's office when she said no more, I am just that ecstatic that I can do a 5K and still be able to function the next day. Before the Chi Running, I had done physical therapy, deep pressure massage, reflexology, and countless braces, shoes, inserts, etc. and nothing worked consistently. I still have LOTS of practicing to do, but I can totally feel the differences. My feet and my psyche thank you! I liked the small group - it wasn't intimidating when you had to practice or run on camera. I also liked that I got to practice between sessions and getting new parts to think about. My brain might have exploded with all of it at once! Watching my first video when we started was good, too. As much as I hate seeing myself on camera, I could pick out what we just got done talking about that was causing problems. I can't think of anything I didn't like. It felt good to be part of a running community again. "Kelly, 7/8/2010
"Lisa, I have to tell you that using what you've taught me at the clinic has really helped my running! I am able to run faster, and use less energy! I also shared the posture form with Aaron and he noticed less pressure on his back. This is amazing, can't wait to learn more. Thank you so much!!!" Aletia, 6/10
"I started running when I joined Lisa’s drill night of her monthly running camps. My initial goal was to add more cardio to my exercise routine, but what I found was a great group of ladies who , like me, didn’t “love” running, but wanted to improve their fitness levels. Well, this evolved into signing up for the PF Chang’s ½ marathon & other local races. Now I’m running, not exactly loving it, but looking for ways to improve my technique to have the “great run” my other running crazies say is out there. Enter Chi Running…. when Lisa offered her 1st workshop – I jumped on it. I was very interested in the running pain free concept. I’ve been practicing 2 of the many practices I learned in class, posture and arm swing. The posture offered by Chi Running, along with the belly breathing has helped me decrease my tendency to get side cramps when running. I’ve been out running twice this week and have not been hindered by the dreaded side stitch!!! What a difference it has made in my runs! I’m working weekly on integrating what I learned from her workshop and based on what I’ve experienced so far, I know the “great run” is in my reach. Thanks for bringing me the Chi!!!
